Yesterday was my 37 week check up and today was my ultrasound to see if the boy is too big. Good news, he is not a porker. He is just right. I knew that though. My kid will just be perfect all around! I am 37w and 5d and he is between 6.5-7 lbs so I am thinking if he is born at 40 weeks he'll either be 7.5lbs-8lbs. He is in the 46th percentile. He is head down facing my back. This is the way that the doc's want him to be when he is born so he's already getting himself prepared! The tech said he looked good and very handsome. I say "why are you telling me this? I already know! He was blinking and sucking with his lips! Adorable! My doc's appt was good. My blood pressure came down. 118/78. I have gained .5 lbs since last week so I am now 178.5 lbs. That means I will have to take off 37.5 lbs so far. Hopefully when he is born he'll take most of the weight with him. His heartbeat was 120.
On Tuesday, I thought I was going to the hospital but it was my first day day back to school and my body was saying "what the heck are you doing to me? You've been lounging all summer long and now you are going crazy!" Yesterday I had two days of energy but tonight I can feel myself crashing. I am really tired! I might take a nap. Today I felt like I was 6 months pregnant. Full of energy and practically no pains Maybe I'll start walking the halls to get this kid to come out! I told my friend that I might use my own vacuum to pull him out myself! I keep giving him little pep talks but he isn't listening to his momma! I just really want to go to the hospital and have this guy! I am anxious for him to be here! Everyone wish us a quick delivery and that he comes SOON!!! I can't wait anymore!!
Love to all,
Mike, Stacey, and the 7 lb. bundle of joy!

36 week and 5 day check-up
Well, Mike let the cat out of the bag but yes...My doctor has checked me out and I am 2-3 cm dilated and 70% effaced. I have been having some contractions which are nothing more then Braxton Hicks but they still hurt. It hasn't been anything serious that I can't walk through or talk through. Just some lower back/front pain and tightness in the uterus. I guess I watch too much Baby Story b/c I see woman in the hospital at 4 cm dilated and needing epidurals!
Other news.. our sons heartbeat sounded good. The nurse was using an instrument that didn't have the numbers displayed and she couldn't tell me his heartbeat. My blood pressure was higher then normal. 130/90 but we accounted for it b/c I was in a rush to get there and I have a lot of stress on my plate with the kick off of the new school year. I guess I should take it easy. I gained 1 lbs. in two weeks so I have gained 38 lbs. all together. We have an ultrasound scheduled for next Thursday. We'll check out his measurements and see if he is a whopper. She did say that he probably won't be as big as they thought he might end up being. I measured at 35 cm this week. I should be 36-37 cm but she said not to be alarmed b/c I can go 2 cm both ways so in essence I could be measuring at 38 cm (bigger) or 34 cm (smaller) without alarm. I think with all the moving and walking I have been doing this past two weeks I am keeping weight down and not gaining as much as I was.
Well, I am gonna try to keep this baby in for another 3 weeks and 2 days until his birthday but I'll tell ya what, if he comes now, I won't be upset. My classroom is ready, my substitute and I had a 2.5 hour meeting today and went over everything and I have my lesson plans completed until next Friday so if he comes, he comes. I just need to pack my hospital bag yet and then I am ready to go! I cant wait to see him and eat him up!
Love to all,
Mike, Stacey and SFC

Exciting news!
Hello all, just a quick note because Stacey will have more later. She had her appointment today and the doctor said that she is 2-3cm dialated!! They said not to get too excited because he could stay put for weeks yet but Stacey is having some contractions which are doing their job of pushing the boy down! SOOOOOOOOON!!!!!

34 week check-up
Things are looking well in the Caufield uterus! The baby is head down and that is important for his birth day. His heartbeat was 155-160 bpm. His mommy's blood pressure 117/80 and she has gained 37 lbs. so far (AHHHH!!!!). We will schedule his next ultrasound at our next appointment which is next Wednesday. We will be 36+ weeks and his ultrasound will either be in our 37 or 38th week. This will tell us how big he is! After my 36 week appt. I will start going to the doctors on a weekly basis.
We have our hospital tour this week and an infant CPR class. We will take a breast feeding class on the 18th. Hopefully I will know what to do? The nursery is almost completely ready. We need to get some more storage for sheets, blankets and toys. We had our shower on Saturday and got a butt load of things. It took all afternoon on Sunday put organize and put things away. I am still working on laundry just from the shower. He had three loads of clothes! This kid has more clothes then his dad and I put together, and I have a ton of clothes! Thank you to everyone for your contribution to the Caufield Baby! It was so awesome to be there surrounded by family and friends! We had a great time!
Well, my summer is almost over. I have been in my classroom twice now and am planning on going in almost everyday. It is hard to focus on school when I all I want to do is have this little guy!! It does keep my mind focused to other things then how many more days I have until we have him. The countdown is 33 days if I give birth on 9-13/08. My maximum time countdown would be 47 days if I go two weeks over my due date....let's pray that I don't go that long!
Thanks so much for all our prayers and thoughts. We love you and can't wait to see alot of you when we give birth!

6 Weeks too long!!!!
I can't stand this waiting game! I watch Baby Story every morning and I sit here and cry (that is not unusual for me...I'm so hormotional) and just get so excited to see our little man! I CANNOT wait to hold him for the first time and kiss his gooshy big lips and his chubby cheeks! I want to rub his cute upturned nose and and tweek his pointy chin! Do I sound crazy? I am crazy in love with this little guy! Anyone have any suggestions about how to bide my time for 6 weeks and be patient until he comes?
