So I am watching the Baby Story on TLC and am getting very nervous for
the big day! The last woman had no drugs and was screaming "NO NO, I
can't do this. It hurts SOOOOO bad." This is when I say "don't be a
hero, get an epidural!" As you can tell, I am opting for an epidural
but I am going to try to do all the other things first (relaxation,
breathing, IV drugs THEN epidural). We'll see how that goes. Mike
thinks I'll go right in and ask for drugs. I didn't learn the breathing
technique for nothing so I am gonna try it!
The lady I am watching now has perfect makeup and is not screaming at all! That's what I am hoping for. She's so graceful. I guess you can count me out of that b/c
I am not graceful in real life! I don't have the name "Mad dog" for no reason!
Tomorrow we go to Hershey Park and I am so excited even though I can't ride a thing! I am just excited to be hanging out with best buds and eating free food. You can't beat that with a stick!
Off to do some chores!

32 weeks and 5 day update
Hey everyone! Just wanted to give everyone a quick (yeah, right) update. Yesterday was a doctors appointment. Everything went really well. She thinks that he is head down which makes me happy but I do know that he can turn at the last minute. His heartbeat was good (she never did tell me what it was and I forgot to ask).
I have maintained my weight. There was a time, about a month ago, that they were upset with me b/c I gained too much in a month. This last month I lost a pound then gained it back. I have only gained 30 so far. I know that seems a lot for some of you but I thought at the rate I was going it would be 50-60 lbs. the total pregnancy. Well, I do have about 7 weeks and 2 days to go so anything is possible!
I am measuring good (again she didn't tell me the numbers). I am assuming that I am measuring about 33 cm. The doctor kept laughing because every time she would try to measure me, he would kick her. She had to stop like three times because he was really active. I wonder if this is an indication of his activity rate when he gets here. Just like his daddy! I think that my next visit I'll schedule my 36 week ultrasound. I am so excited for that. One more look at him before he says hello to the world!
The heart palpatations are getting a lot better. My doctor wants to keep me on the Pepcid AC because she thinks that it is the reason why they are getting better. I'm not sure about that but I will trust what she says. I 'm just glad that I don't have to go get an EKG.
My baby shower is coming up in August and I am so excited! I stopped by Baby's-R-Us yesterday to pick up a gift for a friend and just looked at the bedding we registered for and got really excited to get his room completed. We have all the furniture ready and big things (like swing, bassinet, etc...) put together.
Well, that is the nuts and bolts of everything. I am finally finished my summer classes for the year. I only have three more classes until I get my master's! I won't be able to take any this fall but will resume in the spring and next summer. The rest of this summer I will focus on relaxing and then thinking about going back to school to get ready for the next school year. I can't believe that I am already thinking about school! Where did the time go?
Have a great week everyone and keep checking this site for new updates! We'll try to add more pictures soon!

31 Week update
Hey hey everyone! Yesterday was another doctors appointment. We are up to 2 appt. a month which is exciting to me b/c I can hear his heart and get updates every two weeks! The last month, I'll be going in every week. This last appointment was really good. The babe's heartbeat was at 140. Mike was wondering why it was lower then usual but the doctor told me on average his heartbeat will be anywhere between 120-160 bpm. He always worries too much.
I am measuring at 31 cm which correlates with the week that I am in. I am 30weeks and 5 days today so I am almost finished my 31 week. I can't believe I am only 9 weeks away from delivery unless I go early which could be up to 4-5 weeks away!!! AHHH...scary. I lost a pound these last two weeks and the doc and nurse yelled at me. I DON'T know what they want. Last time I gained too much and they yelled at me then so I have been trying to be more aware of what I eat and drink (not necessarily changing any habits but at least being aware) and I lost a pound. I thought that would be OK b/c I was 6 lbs. overweight and now I am only 5 pounds overweight. That just means more weight I can put on later : )
My doctor told me that she is not going to order and EKG yet b/c it sounds like I can control the heart palpitations by moving to a different position or standing up and walking around. She said if it was really a heart condition then I wouldn't be able to control it. She told me that the doctors would ask me the same questions next time and keep observing the heart palpitations. Needless to say the Pepcid hasn't worked and I have actually noticed *more* heart burn and the Pepcid hasn't done jack squat! It is hard to sleep at night b/c I have so much acid in my throat!
Oh good news...I will get another ultrasound in week 36 or 37 to check out the babe's weight. Since the last ultrasound showed that he is on the bigger side they want to keep an eye on him.
Last night I had a dream that I was in labor on a big water slide. Is that a sign of early labor? I sure hope not. I want to make it to 40 weeks (for job purposes) but I wouldn't be to upset if I went at 37 weeks. This little one sometimes gets uncomfortable. He sometimes kicks and grabs ribs, head butts hip bones and puts his butt up through the middle of my stomach all at the same time. It is a funny feeling! another feeling that is funny is when he has the hiccups. I can tell when he has them b/c it is very rhythmic and it is usually in the lower part of my stomach where his head usually is. Mike actually felt it the other night! We both laughed!
We have made it a ritual to read to the little man. I have three books that he likes. I think his favorite is "Guess How Much I Love You". He kicks and squirms when I read him anything but I have a DVD that I let him listen to and he loves it and does extra kicks and squirms. He also listens to our worship CD's and really likes it! I am trying to encourage Mikey to sing and read to him so that he'll know his daddy's voice and will recognize him right away. It is fun and I look forward to it every night!
Well all, I am gonna sign off for now. Sorry we haven't had any new pics up. I don't remember how to put them on and I have to rely on Mike to do the pics and sometimes I forget to take pics and have him put it on the site. We'll try to do it by this weekend. Talk to you all very soon. Love and Kisses
