24 week check up

We had another doctors appointment this evening. Before we went to the doctors we got a 4D ultrasound. Everything looked great and we even got a video of the ultrasound. Mike tried to burn the dvd but for some reason it wouldn't burn correctly so we won't be able to send out an dvd's. Everyone will have to come and visit if you want to see the video. The little guy wasn't being so photogenic this time. He kept turning away and putting his hand to his face. He was being camera shy. Not like his mama.
After our ultrasound, we went to the docotrs and I weighed in. This is always a nervous time for me. I have gained 20 lbs so far which seems like a lot to me but the nurse reassured me that it is fine. The baby's heart beat was 158 bpm. The baby kept kicking and moving around that the nurse made the comment "how do you get any sleep with all this movement?" The doctor said that the placenta has moved safely away from the cervix and I am now have no restrictions and I can breathe easy! Praise the LORD!!! It can only get better from here. The ultrasound tech and the doctor both said that the baby and my belly is a little bigger then normal. The baby should be about 1.5 lbs but he is 2lbs, 1oz. What a porker!! The ultrasound tech said that it will probably change by the time of delivery but if it doesn't, I might have a tough delivery. Nothing with this kid is easy. I am so thankful that everything is going well so far. Keep us in your prayers as this little guy ( I mean big guy) grows and develops into a healthy, bouncing baby of God! We love everyone and appreciate all your prayers and love! A special shout out to all the people who helped us move this weekend and helped us pack these two past weeks! We love you all and appreciate all your help!
Love ya

23.2 weeks

We are so excited that we will be 24 weeks on Saturday! I hear that 24 is the magic number in pregnancy's and can't wait for it to be here. I have some updates for everyone. I went to Maternal Fetal Medicine on Wednesday and got a real intensive ultrasound. It was AWESOME! We got to see the little guy moving all around. In fact he was so active that the tech said it was hard to catch him on film. She also said that he is very cute (I thought she had to say that to everyone but she reassured us that she doesn't say that to many people because some babies are not so cute in the womb) and photogenic. I had to agree with her. Guess all mom's think their kids are the cutest. Hopefully he'll be that cute after birth. I have seen some lookers and some not-so-much-lookers. GAZZZZILLLL...
The technician also downgraded the disorder from placenta previa to just a low lying placenta and assured us that by next ultrasound that they placenta should be raised two centimeters. She said she could have done a thorough measurment that day but then if she cleared me I wouldn't get anymore ultrasounds and she wants us to see this little guy as much as possible. I have been feeling great and have not spotted since Mother's Day so I am hoping all is well.
We are in the midst of moving and packing up the house. My doctor has given strict orders to take it easy and no lifting and I'll tell you it is hard but kind of nice not to do it all by ourselves. Aunt Minn has organized our friends to come and help pack up the house and we have been taking it night by night. I think we will be done by tomorrow. Our actual day to move is Sunday and I am glad we have one more week to put the last touches on everything. THANKS so much to all the people who have given of their weeknights and weekends to help us out. It is very much appreciated by our little family!
We also bought our new car. It is a 2003 Kia Sorento fully loaded. We love it. The only thing is it is quite the gas hog. Luckily during the summer I won't have to worry about driving 25 minutes to work. Only 10 minutes to Aunt Drak's house for the pool!! Well life is going well and we are so appriciative to all our families and friend's prayers that have surrounded us the past few months. We love and cherish everyone of you all and will keep everyone in our prayers. Bubba (the only name we are giving at this point) sends his kicks and love and Mike and I send our love and thoughts to all of you!
We love ya!!
Mike, Stace and our little man Bubba!

Happy Mother's Day...NOT!!!

This weekend was supposed to be full of buying a new car, registering for baby, celebrating mother's day, and packing up my home. Well not a lot of that got accomplished. Saturday when we were getting ready to go and buy a new car, I noticed that I was spotting and FREAKED out! I called the doctor and she wanted me to come to the hospital and get checked out. We went and got on a contraction monitor and heartbeat monitor. They also gave me an exam and couldn't figure out what was causing me to spot. I had to spend the night at the hospital for observation. I had no contractions while I was there and this morning they gave me an ultrasound. The doctor discovered that I have a disorder called "placenta previa" which just means that my placenta is resting on my cervix. She said that it is a mild case and it is just some of it is on my cervix. She is hoping that with the growth of my uterus, it will pull the placenta off and everything will be OK. If it doesn't then I will have to have a C-section at 36-37 weeks. I am on some mild restrictions and will be one of those patients that will probably get to see the baby a lot with ultrasounds throughout the next few months (which is the positive aspect of this).
I did actually get to see the sex of our child. Let's just say HE'LL be a baseball player! I have another ultrasound this week and will keep everyone updated. PLEASE keep us in your prayers that the baby will be safe throughout this pregnancy and that the placenta will come off of the cervix and everything will be normal. We love all of you and appreciate your prayers. Happy Mother's Day!

Pretty cool!

So Stacey and I were outside last night and I was cooking some chicken while she sat in a chair and kept me company. I was leaning over her and asking the baby if he/she would kick is they liked our choices of names (to which we will not tell any of you so you can't ruin them for us) and I saw Stacey's stomach jerk. Right away Stacey said that the baby kicked. After that we watched her stomach during the night and we both saw the baby move for the first time!
